Natural Pool Garden
Vienna, Austria
As part of the Vienna project, this garden section’s brief was transforming a previously laid lawn area into a secluded biotop. This chemical-free natural pool complements its surroundings while providing a sustainable and enriching space for people and wildlife.
The team delivered an exceptional and professional interpretation of this vision, creating a bathing retreat that blends beauty, sustainability, and ecological balance.
The pool has become a thriving haven for birds, insects, and frogs, which gather at its edges to drink and bathe. A thoughtfully positioned sunbathing deck offers the perfect spot to unwind, observe the vibrant ecosystem, and enjoy the tranquillity of the setting.
To enhance privacy and biodiversity, the situated mature trees provide shade, shelter, and vital nourishment for pollinators. The Miscanthus’ Gracillimus’ has quickly flourished, its arching foliage swaying gently in the breeze, creating a soothing natural soundtrack.
Among the grasses, striking bursts of Kniphofia caulescens, Phlomis russeliana, and Eryngium bourgatii add seasonal colour whilst attracting pollinators. The biotop specialists carefully selected the marginal plants, ensuring a balanced ecosystem that enhances the pool’s natural beauty.
This project is a testament to the power of sustainable design, where nature and human well-being coexist in perfect harmony.
